The 12th edition of Samvad has started in Jamshedpur, celebrating India’s rich tribal wisdom, art, and culture. The event is supported by the Tata Steel Foundation and brings together tribal artists, elders, community leaders and knowledge-keepers from different parts of the country.

Ceremonial Opening with Traditional Rituals

The event began with traditional prayers performed by the Ho, Munda, Santhal and Oraon tribes. Rituals included the use of Bhner, Sakua and Nagada musical instruments. A special cleansing of the Akhra was conducted according to Ho traditions, symbolising purity and community unity. Elders received Jawa saplings to honour cultural and environmental values.

This year Samvad is showcasing:
