Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on the state’s 25th foundation day.

India’s First Digital Museum of Tribal Heritage

  • The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum is built at a cost of ₹50 crore on 10 acres of land.
  • It will showcase India’s tribal history, culture, and freedom struggle through 16 thematic galleries.
  • Each gallery features historical artefacts, folk art, videos, and digital storytelling.

  • The museum uses virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), and 3D projection technology.
  • A special AI camera lets visitors see themselves in traditional tribal attire with forest-themed backgrounds.
  • At the entrance, visitors are welcomed by digital replicas of sacred trees like Sal, Mahua, and Saja, each displaying stories of 14 major tribal uprisings.
  • Statues of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and Gend Singh are also displayed.
  • Interactive zones and youth-friendly exhibits make the experience educational and inspiring.

The museum highlights major tribal uprisings against British and feudal oppression, including:

  • Halba Rebellion (1774–1779) – India’s first tribal revolt.
  • Surguja Rebellion (1792)
  • Bhopalpatnam Uprising (1795)
  • Paralkot Rebellion (1824–1825)
  • Tarapur Rebellion (1842–1854)
  • Meria (1842–1863), Koi (1859), and Lingagiri (1856–1860) uprisings.
  • Sonakhan Rebellion (1857) led by Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, the first freedom fighter from Chhattisgarh.

These revolts reflect the tribal community’s bravery in defending their land, culture, and independence.

  • Launch projects worth ₹14,260 crore in roads, energy, health, and industries.
  • Unveil the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Vidhan Sabha.

  • Inaugurate 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks across 9 districts.
  • Release ₹1,200 crore to 3 lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and celebrate the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh completed homes.
