Through local investments, sequencing costs have reduced from ₹85,000 to ₹60,000 per sample, making large-scale genomic research feasible.
2. Data Collection and Parental Studies
Samples from different tribal groups, including parent–child trios, will help scientists trace genetic transmission patterns.
The data will lead to DNA-based test kits costing around ₹1,000–₹1,500, far cheaper than traditional genome sequencing that costs up to ₹1 lakh.
