Navy Education Society Conference 2025 Concludes in Visakhapatnam with Focus on NEP Reforms

The Eastern Naval Command has successfully concluded the Navy Education Society (NES) Conference 2025 in Visakhapatnam, held from 10 to 13 November. The main aim of this annual event was to improve policies and operational systems in Naval Schools, especially as they move through reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Committee Meetings and Participation

The conference included important sessions of:

• Executive Committee
• Management Advisory Committee (MAC)
• Academic Advisory Committee (AAC)

Senior officers from Naval Headquarters attended the conference along with academic and administrative leaders from Naval Schools across India. Discussions focused on institutional challenges, case studies, and strategies to improve the quality of education across the naval school network.

Leadership and Policy Direction

The Executive Committee meeting was chaired by Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair.
The MAC and AAC discussions were led by Commodore SM Urooj Athar.

In his keynote speech, Vice Admiral Nair highlighted the need for uniform policies and practices in all Naval Schools. He reviewed ongoing NEP 2020 reforms, focusing on:

• Better school infrastructure
• Training and development of teachers
• Standardisation of educational policies
• Inclusive and equitable learning environment

Focus on Inclusive Education

For the first time, Sankalp Schools, which support children with special needs, joined the conference. Their participation shows NES’s commitment to inclusive education and the welfare of all students, including those requiring special learning support.

Delegates also discussed new ideas and models to make Naval Schools national leaders in education and value-based learning.

Future Vision and Recognition

During the event, the Chairperson shared the revised Vision and Mission Statements of the Navy Education Society, aligned with national educational goals.
The conference also included:

• Visits to Navy Children Schools, Visakhapatnam to review developmental progress
