According to the State government, less than 10% of Indian households own a computer, and Karnataka is only slightly better than the national average. Due to this lack of access, many students struggle with digital learning and some even face high dropout risk. KEO is expected to support education, digital skilling, and digital livelihood opportunities by making computing affordable and accessible.

KEO is powered by a 64-bit quad-core RISC-V processor and runs on a Linux-based operating system. Major connectivity options include:

• 4G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet
• USB-A & USB-C ports
• HDMI output and audio support

One of its most important features is its on-device AI core, which can process AI tasks without internet access, making it highly useful in low-connectivity areas.

The device comes preloaded with BUDDH, an AI educational tool based on the Karnataka DSERT syllabus, helping students learn even with limited network availability.
