Praveen Kumar, the current Director General (DG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has assumed the additional charge as the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). He took over the charge after the retirement of former BSF chief Daljit Singh Chawdhary.
The official handover ceremony, unusually, took place at a BSF camp in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, instead of the BSF headquarters in New Delhi, as both officers were attending the national police conference there.
